JONESBORO, Ark. (9/14/26) – Arkansas State fourth year linebacker Robert Stevens III has been named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Stevens forced a fumble and grabbed an interception becoming A-State’s first player to do both in a game since Jayden Jones in 2024 against Southern Miss. It marked the 12th time since 1995 an A-State player had done so. Stevens totaled six tackles, including a tackle for loss, a quarterback hurry, forced fumble and interception in the contest. His forced fumble led to a 68-yard touchdown return by Noah Flores, one of two touchdowns scored by the A-State defense in the game.

A-State travels to Fort Worth, Texas, to face TCU on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. The matchup will be broadcast on ESPNU, and the radio broadcast of the game can be heard across the EAB Red Wolves Sports Network, including the flagship station 107.9 KFIN in Jonesboro.
