COLUMBIA, Mo. (4/9/24) – Sophomore Thomas Schmidt finished 12th individually as the Arkansas State men’s golf team closed out is regular season at the Tiger Intercollegiate.

Schmidt posted his 15th par or better round of the season with a final round 1-under par 70 to close out the tournament at 2-under par 211 (67-74-70). The tie for 12th finish marks his sixth finished inside the top 15 in nine events played. Jack Maxey tied for 67th improving by one stroke each round and finishing up at 9-over par 222 (75-74-73). Jake Lile (+11) tied for 77th, Pierce Johnson (+18) tied for 95th and Anthony De Schutter (+19) tied for 99th.

A-State closed out the event with a 14-over par 298 to finish at 28-over par 880. The Red Wolves tied with UAB for 15th among the 18-team field, 19 strokes back of Minnesota and Wyoming for ninth. Iowa State won the event with a total of 11-under par 841 while host Missouri was second at 9-under par 843.

The Sun Belt Conference Championship is April 22-25 at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Miss. All rounds will be aired on ESPN+.
