JONESBORO, Ark. (10/7/26) – Arkansas State (3-6-2, 1-4-0 SBC) soccer was unable to find the net against James Madison (6-5-1, 4-1-0 SBC) as the Dukes scored once in each half for the 2-0 final Wednesday afternoon at the A-State Soccer Complex.
Arkansas State found themselves walled up in the back line for a majority of the first half, taking opportunities to find scoring chances in the counteroffensive. In one of A-State’s first half corners, James Madison took the ball back in a counterattack of their own, rolling one into the net for the 1-0 away lead. A-State responded with a flash up the field by Kayla Windsor, but the cross into the box failed to find a friendly jersey.
The Red Wolves advanced into the middle third often in the second half but were unable to manage the ball into the box. JMU doubled their lead in the 75th minute, and A-State adjusted with a flurry of offense off of a pair of deep drives to Natalie Beck in, and another push up the field by Windsor, none managing paydirt.
The Red Wolves were outshot 18 to five, with eight on target for the road team and three for the home side. JMU took 11 total corner kicks while A-State took six.
