JONESBORO, Ark. (10/16/26) – Arkansas State (3-7-3, 1-5-1 SBC) scored in the opening minutes and held the lead for 85 minutes before App State (8-3-4, 3-2-2 SBC) found the net to even the score, 1-1, in the 89th minute Friday afternoon at the A-State Soccer Complex.
An aggressive first half for A-State, the Red Wolves let off only 6 shots, with three on goal and the first shot of the day scoring off of a volley into the box by Sydney Veatch and a center by Maddy Tapley before Kennedy Horn buried the shot into the back of the net.
App State tuned up the heat in the second half, outshooting the home squad six to none, but it wasn’t until a pair of late corner kicks gave the Mountaineers the break they were looking for, scoring in the final minutes of the match end the match with a draw at one apiece.
