ATLANTA, Ga. (1/29/26) –Arkansas State (19-4, 10-1 SBC) stifled the Georgia State (9-13, 4-6 SBC) offense to their fifth-lowest point total of the season Thursday afternoon at the Georgia State Convocation Center, winning 69-61.

All 10 Red Wolves that saw the court scored, with Crislyn Rose leading the pack with 14 points, and Yves Cox cleaning the glass with nine rebounds.

The Red Wolves shot 39 percent (27-of-69) and held Georgia State to 33 percent (20-of-60) from the field. The Red Wolves hit 7-of-32 (22 percent) from deep and GSU went 3-of-20 (15 percent). The Red Wolves won the rebounding battle (42 to 38), and forced more turnovers (25 to 23) to secure the victory.

A-State struggled to find consistency in the first quarter, with Marlie Dickerson as the only Red Wolf to net more than one field goal and A-State trailing from the Panthers’ first bucket at 9:47. Georgia State reached an eight-point lead four minutes in, then after a short A-State run, regained it at the end of the quarter, up 23-15.

The Red Wolves took the second quarter in stride, scoring seven points immediately capped off with a Mia Tarver triple. Aniyah Ruddock took over, giving Arkansas State the lead with a shot from deep, then later hit back-to-back threes to establish the multi-score lead. Georgia State responded with four points of their own but the Red Wolves shut them down for the final two minutes to go on an 8-0 run fueled by three Rose drives in the paint and Tarver landing from three.

The Red Wolves and Panthers traded points throughout the third, and in the final two minutes a pair of layups from Rose and a drive from Dickerson gave Arkansas State a 15-point lead.

Defense was prevalent in the fourth quarter, with Georgia State scoring just five points in the first five minutes and Arkansas State scoring just two points. The last four minutes the Red Wolves were outscored 9-5 and both teams took several attempts at the free throw line.
