JONESBORO, Ark. (8/21/2025) – Arkansas State (1-0-2, 0-0-0 SBC) rallied in the final 20 minutes to even the score, 2-2, against the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks (0-1-2, 0-0-0 SLC).
The Lumberjacks struck within the first minute of the game for the early lead, and continued to pressure early, with eight total shots in the first half. Senior keeper Damari Deschaine stayed active with five saves in the first, but SFA added to their tally on a 34th minute score.
Kennedy Horn redirected an airborne ball with a 72nd minute header to put the Red Wolves on the scoreboard, assisted Sydney Veatch. ASU turned it around and kept the pressure on with an errant pass from the Nacogdoches side going straight to Rylee Bernard, who lobbed a shot into the net with the defense out of position to settle the score even. A late Lumberjack push in the final minutes led nowhere as the final buzzer ended the game for the Red Wolves’ second draw in a row.
