
JONESBORO, Ark. (2/20/22) – A perfect 3-0 day in bracket play saw the Arkansas State bowling team finish third amongst the 18-team field at the Mid-Winter Invitational presented by Kalmer Solutions at Hijinx Family Entertainment Center.
A-State (55-22) finishes 10-3 in the event, earning seven wins over top-20 ranked teams, four of which were against top-10 sides. A-State opened the day with a 4-2 victory over No. 5 Louisiana Tech to meet No. 13 Maryville in the second round. After falling behind 2-0, the Red Wolves rallied back to win the next four games to advance to the third-place matchup with No. 8 Stephen F. Austin. A-State dropped the first game, but won the next four contests to take third place in the event.
Faith Welch earned All-Tournament team honors finish fifth in the individual standings Saturday. Welch rolled 1,140 pins, an average of 228.00. Nebraska edged Wisconsin-Whitewater 4-3 in the championship match to win the Mid-Winter Invitational title.
