    ALLEN PARK, Mich. (4/13/24) – Advancing to the national championship match for the third time in the last four seasons and fourth time in program history, the Arkansas State women’s bowling team finished runner-up in the National Collegiate Bowling Championship that concluded Saturday at Thunderbowl Lanes.

    No. 1 overall seed Jacksonville State overcame a 3-2 deficit to defeat the Red Wolves in game seven for the national championship. Tying for the best finish in program history, A-State took runner-up honors for the third time in the last four years (2021, 2023, 2024) and fourth time in program history (2008).

    Jacksonville State took game one 239-194 to take the early advantage, but A-State responded taking game two 211-204. After Jacksonville State grabbed the lead once again on the left lane 244-207, the Red Wolves answered once again to take game four 221-183 and make it 2-2 headed to game five.

    A-State won game five, 255-205, the first win on the right lane to take the 3-2 advantage. Jacksonville State forced a decisive game seven after winning game six 237-190. Sticking with the right lane for game seven, Jacksonville State won 255-192 to clinch the match.

    Brooklyn Buchanan and Karli VanDuinen earned All-Tournament Team honors. A-State closes the season at 87-28 on the year with four tournament titles, including the Rochester Regional.
