    POINT CLEAR, Ala. (4/17/24) – Finishing with its lowest 54-hole total at a conference championship in program history, the Arkansas State women’s golf team finished fifth at the Sun Belt Conference Championship at Lakewood Golf Club.

    A-State turned in a final round 4-over par 292, the lowest round at a conference championship in program history. The Red Wolves finish the championship with a total of 22-over par 886, two strokes better than the previous championship-best set last year.  Texas State finished up at 3-under par 861 to take the top spot into match play Thursday while Georgia Southern (+13) was second and ULM (+15) was third. Old Dominion was one stroke better than A-State for the fourth and final spot in match play.

    Ashley Kim and Morgan Beaulieu closed out the week as the individual leaders for the Red Wolves. Kim, a true freshman, posted a final round 2-over par 74 to finish at 4-over par 220. Beaulieu had the low round among A-State players Wednesday at 1-under par 71 to join Kim and five others in a tie for 10th. Olivia Coit carded her lowest round of the tournament at 1-over par 73 rolling in a birdie putt on the 18th to finish 16th overall at 5-over par 221. Finishing up a stellar career with A-State, Elise Schultz posted her best round of the tournament at 3-over par 75 to finish up at 12-over par 228 and a tie for 37th. Madison Tenore played for the second consecutive round and posted a 2-over par 74 to total 149 in two rounds played.

    A-State finishes the season with the lowest stroke average in program history at 294.27, topping the previous record (296.52) by over two strokes. The Red Wolves won two tournaments, the Lady Red Wolves Classic and The Atlantic Invitational, while finishing runner-up at the ULM Invite.
