    HUMBLE, Texas (3/18/24) – Competing among 18 teams ranked inside the top-150 nationally, the Arkansas State men’s golf team is 15th after 36 holes of the All-American Collegiate played at the Golf Club of Houston.

    A-State opened the day with a 14-over par 302, but trimmed four strokes off that in the second round to total 24-over par 600 after 36 holes. The Red Wolves, ranked 74th in the latest national rankings, are one stroke back of Iowa for 14th and seven strokes back of Baylor and Lamar for ninth. Sam Houston has totaled 4-over par 580 to lead with UNLV (+8), Texas Tech (+8), Rice (+12), Texas State (+13) and Houston (+13) making up the top five and ties. Through 36 holes, the average score is 75.31 on the par-72, 7,067-yard course.

    Devyn Pappas paced A-State with back-to-back 1-over par rounds and is tied for 17th individually. Pappas is tied with four players in the field for the most pars thus far with 27. Hugo Ronnberg is tied for 42nd at 6-over par 150 while Anthony De Schutter is tied for 47th at 7-over par 151. Thomas Schmidt (+9) is tied for 64th and Jack Maxey (+11) is tied for 80th to round out the Red Wolves five golfers.

    The final round begins Tuesday with live scoring available on Golfstat.com.
