TULSA, Okla. (10/3/26) – After posting 11 wins Friday at the Hurricane Invite, the Arkansas State women’s tennis team earned five wins Saturday in the event hosted by the University of Tulsa.

A-State’s No. 1 doubles pair of Lilly Cvanciger and Sara Kastakova improved to 4-0 on the young season with a 6-2 win over a pair from New Mexico. Anna Grigoreva and Lara Margocova were dealt a 6-1 setback against a Lobos pair while Hanmare McAslin and Meghna Arun Kumar took a 6-1 loss against a pair from Tulsa.

The Red Wolves picked up four singles victories in seven matches played. Grigoreva defeated Linhartova of Memphis 6-0, 7-5 and Cvanciger won her fourth consecutive singles match with a 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 triumph against Ionescu of Tulsa. Kastakova improved to 5-0 this season with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Alonso of Tulsa and Arun Kumar added a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 win against Valle of Tulsa. Margocova was dealt her first singles setback of the season 1-6, 6-7 against Novoa of Tulsa while McAslin took a 3-6, 6-4, 4-6 defeat against Baba of Tulsa. Helena Bueno came up short against McKenzie of Tulsa 5-7, 3-6.

A-State closes out play at the Hurricane Invite Sunday at 9 a.m. Matches will be played against Memphis, New Mexico or Tulsa.
