NEW CASTLE, Del. (1/16/26) – Opening the spring portion of its 2025-26 schedule, the third-ranked Arkansas State women’s bowling team stands sixth among 36 teams at the Northeast Classic.
A-State (39-18) totaled 5,023 pins (200.9) across five Baker games going 3-2 in head-to-head competition. Wichita State paced the field with 5,301 pins (212.0) with Jacksonville State (5,291), Vanderbilt (5,094), Maryville (5,059) and Louisiana Tech (5,059) completing the top five. Sacred Heart (4,966), Youngstown State (4,938), Sam Houston (4,924) and North Carolina A&T (4,877) complete the top 10.
The Red Wolves opened with a 1,043-1,011 margin against Maryland-Eastern Shore, but No. 13 North Carolina A&T edged A-State 958-945 in the second match. A-State rebounded in the third contest of the day coming away with a 1,039-844 tally against Morgan State. Following a 939-889 setback to UAB, the Red Wolves closed out the day with a 1,107-853 advantage against No. 23 Kutztown. The 1,107 pins in finale mark the second-most for A-State in a Baker match this season.
Following a position round matchup, A-State has traditional matches against Howard, No. 24 Delaware State, No. 9 Mount St. Mary’s and Molloy on its slate Saturday.
