LAKE WORTH, Fla. (2/13/24) – Madison Tenore earned individual medalist honors as the Arkansas State women’s golf team claimed its second event title of the season winning The Atlantic Invitational Tuesday at Fountain Lakes Country Club.  

With all six players finishing inside the top 10 individually, A-State posted a 4-over par 288 in the final round to register the second-lowest 54-hole total in program history at 10-over par 862. It is the third consecutive event with a 54-hole total landing among the top six in program history. The Red Wolves topped Quinnipiac (+45) by 35 strokes while Marshall (+47), Keiser University (+57), Illinois State (+61), Eastern Michigan (+69) and Lehigh (+80) rounded out the seven-team field. The tournament title is the 16th under head coach M.J. Desbiens Shaw and the 40th top three finish in 14 seasons.

Playing in her fourth tournament for A-State, Tenore won individual co-medalist honors, the first medalist for the Red Wolves since Olivia Schmidt won the 2022 Lady Red Wolves Classic and first in a road event since Schmidt won the 2022 ORU Spring Invite. Leading by three strokes entering the final round, Tenore finished up a 1-under par 212 (69-70-73) for the tournament, tied with Emily McLatchey of Marshall for the top spot. Due to travel arrangements, it was a one-hole playoff with Tenore scoring par on the 18th while McLatchey bogeyed.  

Elise Schultz placed third on the individual leaderboard finishing up at 2-over par 215 (70-74-71). Olivia Coit (+4) tied for fourth, Morgan Beaulieu (+5) was sixth and Anne-Lea Lavoie (+9) tied for seventh. Ashley Kim (+10) turned in the low round of the day and tournament among all players with a 3-under par 68 to climb 10 spots and finish 10th.

A-State returns to action March 4-5 at the UNF Collegiate in Jacksonville, Fla.
