FRESNO, Calif. (3/25/24) – Arkansas State women’s golf true-freshman Ashley Kim is 1-under par and tied for fifth with play suspended due to darkness in the second round of the Fresno State Classic at Copper River Country Club.
Kim is three strokes back of individual leader Leigha Devine of Rutgers as play was suspended Monday evening. She posted an opening round 2-under par 70, her sixth par or better round of the season and is 1-over with one hole to play in the second round. Elise Schultz is a combined 3-over par thus far and tied for 22nd while Anne-Lea Lavoie is tied for 50th at 7-over par. Olivia Coit is 10-over par for 77th, Morgan Beaulieu is 11-over par for 87th and Madison Tenore is 14-over par for 102nd.
After turning in an 11-over 299 in the first round to rank 14th among 21 teams, A-State has climbed five spots to a tie for ninth at 19-over par with the second round suspended. The Red Wolves are tied with BYU for ninth, six strokes back of Sacramento State, Washington State and Rutgers who are tied for fourth at 13-over par. Colorado State holds the lead at 1-under par with host Fresno State second at 5-over par.
The second round will resume with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. (PT) with the third round to immediately follow. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.com.
