CHANDLER, Ariz. (9/7/26) – Led by Jake Lile at 11-under par 133, five Arkansas State men’s golfers were under par over 36 holes on the first day of the season-opening Bombs Darts Birds Collegiate hosted by USC at Whirlwind Golf Club.

Lile opened with a 5-under par 67 and followed it with a 6-under par 66 to tie his career-best 36-hole total at 11-under par 133. It is tied for the fifth-lowest 36-hole total in program history. On the day, Lile had a bogey-free second round with six birdies while carding six birdies and a bogey in the first round. Lile is tied for third individually, one back of leaders Jaden Dumdumay (USC) and Pat Foley (UTEP).

Milan Reed totaled 5-under par 139 (69-70) tie for 29th draining six birdies and one bogey for the day. Making his A-State debut, Henry Styles totaled 4-under par 140 (69-71) to tie for 36th. Cole Kirby joined Styles in a tie for 36th following a first round 1-under 71 and second round 3-under 69.  Jake Wallis is tied for 41st at 3-under par 141 (69-72) and Viggo Hed is tied for 68th at 1-over par 145 (71-74) to round out the Red Wolves in the field.

A-State totaled 23-under par 553 over 36 holes to rank fifth in the strong 13-team field. Playing with fellow NCAA Championship qualifiers USC and Stanford, the Red Wolves turned in a 14-under par (274) in the first round and a 9-under par (279) in the second 18. Santa Clara paces the field at 35-under par 541 followed by New Mexico State (-34), USC (-33) and Stanford (-27).
