    JONESBORO, Ark. (11/15/25) – Arkansas State women’s basketball (2-2, 0-0 SBC) began the fourth quarter on an 18-point run to put away Little Rock (1-2, 0-0 OVC) Saturday afternoon in First National Bank Arena.

    Zyion Shannon led the Red Wolves in points for her second straight game, with 18 points on 55 percent efficency (6-for-11), with both of her threes landing. D’Arrah Allen scored 13 (3-for-5), with all of her attempts coming from deep. Jordan Holman led the Trojans with 16 points, 14 of them from the free throw line.

    A-State shot 47.9 percent (23-of 48) from the floor, making nine of their 23 tries (39.1 percent) beyond the arc. Little Rock finished with 54.5 percent efficiency (24-for44), with only two of their nine threes good (22.2 percent). 

    The Red Wolves were outrebounded 30 to 26, but scored 35 points off the bench and 38 points off turnovers. A-State forced 34 turnovers, with 19 steals.

    Only 11 points in the first quarter, the Red Wolves hit foul trouble and only made 30 percent of their shots, with the Trojans benefitting from eight free throws, making five (63.5 percent).

    The second quarter was more favorable for A-State, with Mimi McCollister scoring seven points with all three of her shots scoring, her final basket giving the Red Wolves a three-point advantage at the halftime break.

    Little Rock developed a short lead early in the third and held onto it for the rest of the period, despite Arkansas State making the trip to the free throw line 15 times, with 12 points from it.

    A mixture of aggressive defense and success in the paint, the Red Wolves hammered away 18 unanswered points, leaving the Trojans silent for the first 6:30 of the quarter. Shannon took charge, with 11 of her points coming in the final period, and despite a late challenge by Little Rock, A-State held steady to solidify the nine-point lead.
