    A-State Women’s Golf Finishes 10th at Georgia State Invitational

    JOHNS CREEK, Ga. (3/29/22) – The Arkansas State women’s golf team concluded play at the Georgia State Invitational with a 10th place finish among the 16 teams that competed at Rivermont Golf Club.
     
    A-State totaled a final round 314 (+26) to finish the tournament at 69-over par 933. Xavier won the event at 45-over par 909 with Eastern Kentucky second, one stroke back. The Red Wolves were four strokes shy of ULM for ninth and 11 strokes behind of Georgia State for eighth.
     
    Kayla Burke was the top individual finisher among the Red Wolves contingent as she totaled 231 (+15) to tie for 24th. It marks her second consecutive top-25 finish and third over the last four outings. Olivia Schmidt just missed the top 25 finishing in a tie for 27th with a total of 232 (+16). Casey Sommer tied for 42nd (237), Elise Schultz was tied for 65th (243) and Charlotte Menager (154) rounded out the team scorers for A-State. Playing as an individual, Sydni Leung tied for the low round of the day by a Red Wolf at 4-over par 76 and finished tied for 62nd with a total of 241.
     
    A-State is scheduled to compete at the Oral Roberts Spring Invite April 11-12 ahead of the Sun Belt Conference Championship April 17-19 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
