    MARICOPA, Ariz. (5/12/24) – Closing out an historic season, the Arkansas State women’s golf team finished fourth among 10 teams playing in the postseason National Golf Invitational hosted by Golfweek at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes.

    A-State posted a final round 8-over par 296 to wrap-up the 54-hole tournament at 24-over par 888. A day after recording the best score of the day, the Red Wolves 8-over par ranked third among the 10 teams. Rutgers took the team title at 13-over par 877 with UNC Wilmington (+16) and Santa Clara (+17) completing the top three. Florida Atlantic (+34), Mercer (+36), Jacksonville State (+37), Chattanooga (+40), USC Upstate (+42) and Austin Peay (+59) rounded out the field.

    Sophomore Olivia Coit registered her fourth career top-five finish by finishing fifth individually at 2-over par for the event. Coit finished up the event with a team-high 39 pars to pair with seven birdies. Junior Madison Tenore closed out the weekend with a 3-over par 76 to tie for 12th at 6-over par 222. Freshman Ashley Kim and sophomore Morgan Beaulieu had the low rounds of the day among A-State players at 1-over par 73 with Kim (+8) finishing tied for 17th and Beaulieu (+12) finishing 29th.

    Wrapping up her collegiate career, Elise Schultz was 3-over par to finish up tied for 42nd at 19-over for the event. Schultz completes her career with a 75.05 stroke average to rank fourth in program history. Coit will enter her junior season second in career stroke average at 74.49 while Beaulieu ranks third with an average of 74.87.

    In addition to making the first appearance in postseason play for a team in program history, A-State established a program record for single-season stroke average at 294.42, topping the previous record of 296.52 set during 2019-20 season. The Red Wolves also had single-season records with seven eagles and 401 birdies.
