JONESBORO, Ark. (6/6/24) – Arkansas State women’s basketball head coach Destinee Rogers announced Thursday the addition of two transfer forwards to the 2024-25 roster.

Quincenia Jackson transfers to A-State from State Fair Community College, where she averaged 7.2 points and 6.4 rebounds last season. The Decatur, Illinois native bounced back after missing most of the 2022-23 season with injury, earning Region 16 Division I Player of the Week honors and finishing with a 57.1 shooting percentage.

Jackson led the Roadrunners with 16.7 points and 8.9 rebounds in 2021-22 and ranked fifth in NJCAA Division I for shooting percentage (62.7 percent). She earned First Team All-Region 16 and MCCA All-Conference First Team honors after the standout season.

Nissa Sam-Grant comes to Jonesboro after spending two seasons at UTSA. The Toronto, Ontario native appeared in 17 games during the 2023-24 campaign, shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 75 percent from the charity stripe.

Grant began her career at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, averaging 4.6 rebounds in two seasons with the Golden Lions. She transferred to Panola College in 2021-22 before joining the Roadrunners ahead of the 2022-23 season.

“We are excited to add Q and Nissa to our roster,” Coach Rogers said. “They bring size and experience and I expect them both to make an immediate impact. We are excited to get to work with them in a few weeks.”

Grant begins her A-State career as a senior with one year of eligibility remaining while Jackson starts as a junior with two years.
