    OXFORD, Miss. (4/5/24) – A pair of Arkansas State track and field athletes entered the program’s top-10 in their respective events on Friday at the Joe Walker Invitational hosted by Ole Miss.

    Noa Isaia threw the hammer 58.78m (192-10) in a sixth-place finish, while Cadence Lapp clocked the No. 7 women’s steeplechase time in school history of 11:07.76 to finish as the runner-up in her event.

    Freshman Lizzee Winkler ran a collegiate-best time of 11:56.58 in the steeplechase to follow Lapp, placing eighth. Andrew Mason finished fifth in the men’s steeplechase, running a season-best 9:42.65.

    Rahel Broemmel finished as the top collegian in the invite section of the women’s 1500 meters, placing second overall with a time of 4:20.44, while Hannes Fahl was fourth in the men’s invitational race with a mark of 3:46.42.

    Cheyenne Melvin earned a top-five finish in the women’s 800-meter invite, placing fifth with a time of 2:09.57.

    In the men’s long jump, Matthew Williams (6.87m/22-6.5) and Amarrion Reese (6.84m/22-5.25) recorded season-best marks and placed sixth and seventh, respectively. CJ Burge finished 17th with a career-best jump of 5.79m (19-0.0).

    Alexis Taylor placed 11th in the women’s long jump, leaping 5.31m (17-5.25), and Madison Holloway jumped 5.22m (17-1.5) in a 14th-place finish.

    In the women’s hammer throw, Michelle Ogbemudia was 12th with a throw of 51.26m (168-2) and Selase Sampram placed 19th with a mark of 44.17m (144-11). Liya Guy also competed, throwing a distance of 34.93m (114-7) to place 25th.

    Chris Boyd finished 20th in the men’s hammer throw behind Isaia, hurling the implement 44.06m (144-6), while Menachem Chen threw a personal-best 42.41m (139-1) to place 22nd.

    In the men’s 200 meters, Spencer Taylor and Mehki Hoo recorded marks of 22.13 and 22.78, while Je’Breiya Chapman clocked a career-best 26.15.
