    ARLINGTON, Texas (1/28/22) – Returning to the lanes for its first event of the spring slate, the Arkansas State women’s bowling team rolled a season-best Baker match total and stands third among the 12-team field at the Prairie View Invitational played at the Bowling International Training and Research Center (ITRC).
     
    A-State (31-13) was 4-1 on the day and totaled 5,143 pins for an average of 205.7. Louisiana Tech leads with 5,269 pins (210.8) with Nebraska second at 5,194 (207.8). The Red Wolves rolled 15 games over 200, including two games that rank among the top five on the season. Against Fairleigh Dickinson, A-State totaled 259, the second-best total this season while the final game of the day, a 256 against North Carolina A&T, ranks third.
     
    The Red Wolves opened by edging Youngstown State 998-971 and followed by topping Sacred Heart 977-855. A-State posted a season-best total of 1,127 in the matchup against Fairleigh Dickinson to move to 3-0 on the day. Tulane edged the Red Wolves by two pins, 1,015-1,013, in match four, but A-State closed out the day with a 1,028-984 result against North Carolina A&T.
     
    Five traditional matches pit A-State against Nebraska, Sam Houston State, Prairie View A&M, Vanderbilt and Louisiana Tech beginning at 9:25 a.m. Saturday.
