JONESBORO, Ark. (4/2/26) – After six weeks on the road, the Arkansas State women’s tennis team returns to close out the regular season with four consecutive home matches.

A-State (9-7) hosts UAB (8-9) on Friday, April 3, with first serve slated for Noon at the A-State Tennis Courts. In the event of inclement weather Friday, the match will move indoors to Jonesboro Country Club with first serve at 11 a.m.

The Red Wolves close out the weekend Saturday, April 4, against Troy (10-6) with first serve set for 11 a.m. In the event of inclement weather Saturday, the match will move to RidgePointe Country Club with first serve at 10 a.m.

“We are starting to hit our stride and are excited to build on the momentum at home,” said A-State head coach Sujay Lama. “I have huge respect for (UAB Head Coach) Mark Tjia and he’ll have his team ready to battle. It’s going to be an exciting match. Troy is one of the top teams in our conference and we still feel the sting from our match last year where we had a match point. We are looking forward to another barn burner.”

A-State is set for its first home match on the newly-resurfaced outdoor courts if weather allows this weekend. The Red Wolves lone home matches this season were back in February with wins over Tennessee State and Lamar indoors.

Freshman Meghna Arun Kumar leads A-State with a 10-3 dual record in singles and carries a four-match win streak into the weekend. The Red Wolves have found success with the doubles pair of Helena Bueno and Hanmare McAslin recently as the duo has won three straight matches. A-State sports a 7-0 overall record this season when winning the doubles point.

Admission to all A-State Tennis matches is free. Free pizza and Lamanade will be available to fans.
