JONESBORO, Ark. (7/21/25) – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released their 2025 Division I All-Academic Teams and Scholar Athletes on Monday, featuring strong representation from Arkansas State.
The Red Wolves earned All-Academic Team honors after posting a 3.94 grade-point average in the 2024-25 academic year. Maria Chova, Lily Cvanciger, Sarah Millard, Carla Muro Castellvi, and Hanmare McAslin posted a 4.0 grade-point average while Ariadna Fernandez (3.93) and Anna Grigoreva (3.90) also earned Scholar Athlete recognition.
Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2025, 1,462 Division I women’s student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 222 women’s tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
“At Arkansas State, excellence isn’t just served on the tennis court, it’s earned in the classroom as well,” head coach Sujay Lama said. Our women’s tennis players exemplify unwavering dedication to their studies, routinely posting semester GPAs of 3.8-and-above.
These young women have truly set themselves apart with their work ethic, positive mindset, and leadership skills among their peers. I am so proud of these young ladies and the hard work and dedication they show. We are so glad that they are a part of the Red Wolves family.”
To qualify, athletes must hold a 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale over the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. Programs must hold a team grade-point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale and have all athletes listed on the institutional eligibility form.
