STRUTHERS, Ohio (10/17/26) – The fourth-ranked Arkansas State women’s bowling team picked up three traditional wins Saturday at the Chelsea Gilliam Penguin Classic.

A-State (6-4) opened the day with a position round match against No. 1 Jacksonville State and took a 963-866 setback. The Red Wolves topped William Smith College 993-927 but fell to No. 16 Duquesne by a seven pins, 1,007-1,000. A-State bounced back with wins over No. 14 Niagara (1,043-977) and Mercyhurst (1,071-859).

Amanda Lang paced A-State individually with 1,063 pins for a five-game average of 212.60 to rank 19th. She had a high game of 246 against Niagara. Katie Ruszczak totaled 1,009 pins (201.80) to rank 27th and Alex-Anne Auclair totaled 976 pins (195.20) to rank 37th over five games. Malaya Chavez rolled four games for 756 pins (189.00), Brooke Andersen rolled three games for a total of 616 pins (205.33), Savannah Portillo bowled two games for 320 pins (160.00) and Victoria Fleming had a game of 233.

The Red Wolves are sixth in total pinfall with 10,130 pins, 4,973 in traditional games added to the Baker total of 5,157. Nebraska leads the field with 10,791 pins (215.8) with Jacksonville State (10,760), Vanderbit (10,526), Youngstown State (10,321) and Wright State (10,160) completing the top five. North Caronia A&T (10,044), Sacred Heart (9,967), Mount St. Mary’s (9,941) and Bryant (9,802) complete the top 10.

Three best-of-seven Baker matches are scheduled for Sunday with the Red Wolves opening play against No. 11 Wright State.
