MONTGOMERY, Ala. (3/5/26) – The Arkansas State women’s tennis team earned a 4-0 sweep Thursday afternoon at Alabama State in a match played at Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.
A-State (7-5) has now won seven of its last nine matches, including four sweeps.
Anna Grigoreva and Carla Muro Castellvi teamed up for a 6-1 win on court one to get the Red Wolves off to quick start in doubles. Hanmare McAslin and Meghna Arun Kumar came up short on court three 6-4, but the pair of Sarah Millard and Helena Bueno clinched the doubles point by way of a 6-4 win on court two.
Millard gave A-State a 2-0 lead with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Petrovic on court six. Grigoreva followed with a 6-4, 6-2 win on court one to make the tally 3-0 and Arun Kumar clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Campagna on court four. McAslin was in a third set tiebreak 6-1, 2-6, 1-1, Bueno led 6-0, 5-5 on court three and Muro Castellvi led 7-5, 4-3 on court five when the match was finished.
The Red Wolves visit Indian Wells for a match against Wichita State on Friday, March 13.
