After trailing 4-3 to open the second set, A-State established momentum with a 7-0 run highlighted by three consecutive kills from Lewis and Kaitlin Whitlock. The lead increased to 19-10 before the opposition claimed the next three rallies and cut it to six.
However, a kill from Addison Collum stonewalled the comeback bid as the Scarlet and Black did not drop another rally and tied the match at one set apiece.
