GREENSBORO, N.C. (2/23/24) – In a field featuring 10 of the top 15 teams nationally, the third-ranked Arkansas State women’s bowling team leads the Stallings Invitational hosted by North Carolina A&T after five Baker matches.
A-State (64-19) went 2-3 on the day, but leads with a total pinfall of 5,157 pins (206.3). No. 1 Jacksonville State is second with 5,083 pins followed by No. 4 North Carolina A&T (5,044), No. 5 Vanderbilt (5,034), No. 6 Nebraska (4,973), No. 11 Sam Houston (4,884), No. 12 Tulane (4,869), No. 14 Maryland-Eastern Shore (4,675), No. 13 Mount Saint Mary’s (4,562) and No. 9 Duquesne (4,350).
The Red Wolves opened the day with a 988-919 setback to No. 12 Tulane, but responded with a 1,089-1,037 margin against No. 1 Jacksonville State, the fifth win over the top-ranked team this season. A-State rolled a season-best 1,140 in a win against Texas Southern, but fell to No. 4 North Carolina A&T by a slim 1,048-1,035 margin. The Red Wolves closed out the day against No. 5 Vanderbilt with the Commodores coming out on top 1,002-974.
