LAKE WORTH, Fla. (2/12/24) – Opening the spring portion of its 2023-24 schedule, the Arkansas State women’s golf team holds a 26-shot lead over six teams entering the final round of The Atlantic Invitational played at Fountains Country Club.
A-State began the day with an even-par 284 on the par-71, 6,005-yard course, the third par or better round of the season and 18th for the program over the last four seasons. The even-par round ranks tied for the fifth best round in program history. The Red Wolves closed the day with a 6-over par 290 to total 6-over par 574, the fourth-best 36-hole total in program history and third top-five 36-hole total set this season. A-State leads Quinnipiac (+32) by 26 strokes while Illinois State (+36), Marshall (+43) and Keiser University (+45) round out the top five.
Madison Tenore posted the sixth-lowest 36-hole total in program history to occupy the top of the leaderboard after day one. At 3-under par (69-70), she holds a three-stroke advantage over Emily McLatcher of Marshall. Morgan Beaulieu (72-71) and Olivia Coit (69-74) are among three players tied for third at 1-over par while Elise Schultz (70-74) is 2-over par in sixth place individually. Anne-Lea Lavoie (74-75) is just outside the top 10 in a tie for 11th while Ashley Kim (75-80) is tied for 20th.
