JONESBORO, Ark. (12/6/25) Wynter Rogers tied her career high with 17 points to lead Arkansas State women’s basketball (7-3, 0-0 SBC) to its fifth-straight victory following the 78-66 win over UT Martin (3-5, 0-0 OVC) Saturday at First National Bank Arena.

At 7-3, the Red Wolves have their best start to a season since 2015-16, also 7-3. It’s the second-best start through 10 games this century, only behind an 8-2 start in 2003-04. The five-game win streak is tied for the longest active streak in Sun Belt Conference.

The Red Wolves fed Wynter Rogers in the paint, where she went 8-for-15 (53 percent) and totaled 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the team in both categories. Zyion Shannon and Payton Fields both also reached double digits, scoring 14 and 10, respectively.

A-State shot 27-of-71 (38 percent) from the field and hit 12 threes on 45 attempts (26 percent).
Arkansas State outrebounded their opponent for the second time this season, cleaning the glass for 41 boards to UT Martin’s 33.

A-State only trailed in the first minute, with Rogers putting in work early scoring six of the Red Wolves first 11 points. Shannon took a Marlie Dickerson turnover in the final seconds of the quarter, fought through contact and landed a triple at the buzzer as the Red Wolves led 19-12.

Rogers again led Arkansas State’s efforts early in the second, scoring six of their first eight points. Mimi McCollister, Mia Tarver, and Marlie Dickerson passed the three-pointer baton in the closing minutes of the first half, with Dickerson’s solidifying a seven point halftime lead.

Arkansas State hit the charity stripe throughout the third period, going 9-for-12 (75 percent) as a team. Seven different Red Wolves scored to help the 28-10 quarter total, as A-State led 64-39 transitioning into the final 10 minutes.

A scoring run carried over into the fourth quarter, with Payton Fields landing a three to extend the lead to 29 and cap off a 16-0 run. UT Martin responded with an 8-0 run of their own, and clawed back the lead over the course of the fourth quarter, but back-to-back threes from Shannon in the final four minutes ensured no comeback occurred as A-State finished with the fifth 10+ point win of the season.
