JONESBORO, Ark. (3/17/26) – The Arkansas State women’s bowling team has garnered the No. 3 seed in the Conference USA Bowling Championship March 18-22 at Colonial Lanes in Harahan, La.
A-State closed out its regular season with a 72-32 record, including a 44-30 mark against top 25 foes. The Red Wolves compiled a 30-20 head-to-head record against CUSA teams this season, including a mark of 15-12 against top five seeds Jacksonville State (2-5), Vanderbilt (6-2), Nebraska (3-3) and Louisiana Tech (4-2).
The Red Wolves meet No. 10 seed Wright State Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the first round in the double elimination tournament. The winner’s bracket will continue in round two with matches seven and eight on Thursday at 9 a.m. with contender’s bracket resuming at 2 p.m. Thursday. The championship match is Sunday, March 22, at 8:30 a.m.
Conference USA features nine of the top 10 teams in the latest NTCA Poll and all 12 CUSA teams are ranked inside the top 25. Jacksonville State owns the top spot in the top 25 followed by Vanderbilt (2), A-State (3), Nebraska (4), Wichita State (5), Louisiana Tech (6), Youngstown State (7), Sam Houston (9), Sacred Heart (10), Wright State (11), Tulane (17) and Valparaiso (21). Seeds entering the tournament are Jacksonville State (1), Vanderbilt (2), A-State (3), Nebraska (4), Louisiana Tech (5), Wichita State (6), Youngstown State (7), Sam Houston (8), Sacred Heart (9), Wright State (10), Tulane (11) and Valparaiso (12).
The CUSA Championship is determined by the mega-match format, and a team must get two points to win the match. The first round is traditional format followed by Baker total pinfall and, if necessary, Baker best-of-seven tiebreaker.
