Carla Wehmeyer – Arkansas State

JONESBORO, Ark. (9/29/26) – Arkansas State volleyball outside hitter Kaitlin Whitlock was named Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week following back-to-back standout performances that powered the Red Wolves to an undefeated start in league play.
 
Whitlock led the Sun Belt with 5.17 kills per set and ranked third in the league with a 4.75 attack percentage during the first weekend of conference action. She posted 11 kills and a .500 clip on Sept. 24 and followed with her first 20-kill match of the year plus a .459 percentage on Sept. 25, resulting in back-to-back 3-0 victories over ULM.
 
The San Antonio native posted the most kills by a Sun Belt player in a three-set match over the weekend and fell two kills shy of tying for the highest single match total outright. Whitlock leads the Red Wolves with 151 kills through 13 matches and ranks ninth in the Sun Belt with 3.36 per set.
 
Next Up
A-State returns to the road for a series against Louisiana on Oct. 1-2 inside Earl K. Long Gym. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and can be viewed on ESPN+ while live stats will be available at AStateRedWolves.com/stats.
