JONESBORO, Ark. (9/25/26) – Arkansas State volleyball (6-7, 2-0 SBC) faced resistance from ULM (5-10, 0-2 SBC) on Friday night inside First National Bank Arena, but Kaitlin Whitlock’s big night powered the Red Wolves to a 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-13) win and a series sweep.
 
Whitlock secured 20 kills for the ninth time in her career and registered a .459 attack percentage alongside a team-leading 16 digs. Erin Madigan led the team with 17 assists and became the seventh A-State athlete to post 3,000 in her career, while Addison Collum and Haley Glunz tallied six blocks apiece.
 
As a team the Red Wolves finished with 46 kills on a .230 clip and recorded 64 digs alongside 13 total blocks.
 
Set 1
Whitlock’s first kill of the match sparked A-State to an early 10-4 advantage, but the Warhawks narrowed the gap to three points over the next nine rallies. The opposition remained within three points of a tie until the 33rd rally, when Whitlock landed the first of three consecutive kills to make the score 20-15. ULM tightened the score by claiming six of the next eight points and evenly split four more with the Red Wolves to keep the margin at one entering set point.
 
Madigan provided the assist to Devyn Lewis and the latter delivered a kill to secure a 25-23 decision.
 
Set 2
A 5-1 start for A-State was quickly reversed as six consecutive rallies in the opposition’s favor created a two-point deficit. The Scarlet & Black broke away from an 8-8 tie by mounting a 5-0 run that began on a kill from Adison Ozuna. A service error broke another surge by ULM, and two kills from Lewis paired with block assists by Madigan and Glunz widened the gap to 21-16.
 
The advantage proved too much as Whitlock accounted for the final three kills en route to a 25-21 set victory.
 
Set 3
Collum and Glunz teamed up for another block that made the score 15-9, and after a brief exchange of points, A-State pulled away. Four of the Red Wolves’ eight blocks in the third set occurred in the final nine rallies, powering a 9-2 run that secured a 25-13 set score and the match.

A-State returns to the road for a series against Louisiana on Oct. 1-2 inside Earl K. Long Gym. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and can be viewed on ESPN+ while live stats will be available at AStateRedWolves.com/stats.
