JONESBORO, Ark. (9/18/26) – Arkansas State volleyball (4-6, 0-0 SBC) battled in a 3-0 (24-26, 21-25, 17-25) setback versus Arkansas (8-2, 0-0 SEC) on Friday night inside First National Bank Arena.

The Red Wolves and Razorbacks faced off in front of 4,128 spectators, the most for an A-State volleyball home match. The attendance shatters a previous record of 2,517 set on November 12, 2015, versus App State.

Kaitlin Whitlock led with 12 kills and Erin Madigan posted a team-high 17 assists while Haley Glunz posted six total blocks. Mia Maloney and Keira Garinger tied for the team lead in digs, posting 10 apiece.

As a team, the Red Wolves landed 37 kills on a .183 attack percentage and posted 40 digs alongside seven blocks.

    Set 1
A-State jumped out to a 4-0 advantage and Arkansas immediately responded with a 5-0 stretch of their own to set up a hotly contested opening set. Both sides remained within two points of the lead until block assists from Glunz and Parker Stearns bookended by a service error and attack error created a 20-17 lead for the Red Wolves. The opposition closed the gap five rallies later and eventually took the opening set in extra points.

    Set 2
After trailing 15-12 at the technical timeout, Glunz landed a kill and paired with Stearns for a block to narrow the gap. The Razorbacks responded with a 5-1 run and held a five-point advantage, but kills by Stearns and Calea Bush highlighted a 3-0 stretch for the Scarlet & Black. The rally effort would not be enough as Arkansas held the lead until a service ace secured the 25-21 decision.

    Set 3
A-State countered four consecutive kills by the opposition with four points and cut the deficit to 13-12. The Razorbacks surged with four of the next five points and maintained the margin until a service error plus a kill from Glunz made the score 20-17. The opposition thwarted the rally and claimed five consecutive points to end the match.
