    PAWLEY’S ISLAND, S.C. (9/6/26) – The Arkansas State women’s golf team opened its 2026-27 season Sunday at the Golfweek Fall Challenge and stands 18th following the first of three rounds at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club.

    A-State turned in a 14-over par 298 to rank 18th among 23 teams. The Red Wolves are three strokes back of UNC Asheville (+11) for 17th while Stetson occupies 10th at 2-over par 286. High Point leads the field at 11-under par 273 with Campbell (-6), East Tennessee State (-4), Old Dominion (-2), Austin Peay (-2), Troy (-2) and Memphis (-2) completing the top five and ties.

    Mackenzie Cloutier and Kayla Van de Ven paced the Red Wolves at 2-over par 73. Cloutier had a birdie on No. 4 to offset a trio of bogeys on the day while Van de Ven carded three birdies, a bogey and two double-bogeys. The pair are among nine players tied for 55th in the 120-player field. Caroline Hughes had a pair of birdies in a 3-over par 74 round to tie for 64th. Ceci Lococo tallied rolled in three birdies while finishing up at 4-over par 75 and a tie for 71st. Yinyoe Yang and Sofia Bastidas are tied for 83rd at 5-over par 76.

    The second round of the three-day, 54-hole tournament gets underway at 7:25 a.m. (CT) Monday. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.
