JONESBORO, Ark. (7/15/26) – Arkansas State head coach Mike Silva adds seven players to the roster this summer and retains 13 starters for his third season at the helm.
Signing 10 total newcomers to the class, the new signees join Three Rivers College transfer Harrison Engskov and incoming freshmen Clayton Kline and Keaton Mathis.
Silva and his staff held a tremendous retention rate this offseason, with all 13 players with remaining eligibility that made at least one start last year set to return for the 2026-27 season. Everyday starters Ashton Quiller and Lane Walton look to build on their offensive production from last season, and Derek Martinez, after earning Second Team All-SBC and All-Sun Belt Freshman Team honors, returns for his sophomore campaign.
Incoming junior Tyler Herb arrives in Jonesboro from Mount Dora, Florida by way of Florida Gulf Coast University. The infielder made 59 starts across 77 games with most of his time spent at shortstop. Batting left and throwing right, Herb holds a career average of .276 and OBP of .351. The Florida native recorded 59 total hits for five doubles, three triples, and two home runs for 30 total RBIs. Defensively, Herb had a .975 career fielding percentage for the Eagles, while turning 25 double plays. He prepped at TNXL Academy prior to his two seasons at FGCU.
Marcus Lawler joins the Red Wolves as a middle infielder, the 40th-ranked player and second-ranked second baseman in Alabama in the 2026 recruiting class by Prep Baseball. Lawler calls Oxford, Alabama home and was named to the MaxPreps 2026 preseason Alabama All-State Team.
Hailing from Greenacres, Fla., Eric Flores joins A-State from Wellington Sports Academy as an outfielder. Batting and throwing left-handed, Flores represented the Gators’ in their inaugural season, with Flores leading the team with a .352 batting average and 14 extra-base hits.
Cole Simoneaux transfers to Arkansas State after two seasons with the Colonels of Nicholls. After five starts and 20 total appearances his freshman season and worked out of the pen for 19 appearances in his sophomore season. Threw 55.0 innings across both seasons for a 6.71 ERA and 74 strikeouts for a .239 opposing batting average and a 2-4 overall record. Went to Nicholls from Napoleonville, Louisiana.
Austin Haley also joins the 2026 Arkansas State Red Wolves as a two-way player and incoming senior from Kansas State. Haley spent two seasons at Murray State College out of Howe High School in Howe, Texas before going to Manhattan. With Murray State, Haley earned 2025 NJCAA Division II First Teal All-American honors, leading the team in almost every offensive stat. For K-State, Haley tossed 21.1 innings for a 2-0 record and 3.80 ERA, striking out 11 batters with two starts. He also made appearances at the plate, with 11 total at bats and one run and one RBI tallied on a pair of walks.
Noah Redmon finds A-State after two seasons at Indiana Tech as a right-handed pitcher. Redmon prepped at Heritage High School from New Haven, Indiana, and made 24 starts across two seasons for the Warriors. A 12-4 career record, Redmon finished his NAIA career with a 4.90 ERA, recording 152 total strikeouts through 119.1 innings, allowing 98 hits, including a pair of complete game shutouts. In his 2025 campaign, Redmon also twice struck out 10 batters in an outing.
Joining A-State as a freshman, Tyler Kenast ranks among the top prospects from the state of Florida. From Winter Springs, Kenast holds a 9.0 Perfect Game grade. Kenast played a key role in Winter Springs’ FHSAA Class 5A State Championship appearance.
A-State also returns a pair of key players from injury. Pitcher Jack Hibbard played a standout on the mound his freshman season in 12 starts with 56.1 innings and 45 strikeouts. Jalen Foxx, the Red Wolves’ opening day left fielder in 2026, also remains with A-State and looks to provide an impact with his presence.
In total, Coach Silva and his staff brought in five high school recruits and five transfer players for 2027, supplementing the returners on the roster. Th 13 eligible returning starters made up 225 of last season’s 530 starts, or 42 percent of last years’ total starts.
