JONESBORO, Ark. (3/29/26) – Arkansas State (18-9, 5-4 SBC) suppressed the James Madison (12-14, 4-5 SBC) offense, with no earned runs allowed for the Red Wolves’ fifth home series win in the 2-1 Sunday decision at Tomlinson Stadium-Slayton Family Field.
Dylan Farley commanded the mound as the starter, allowing just three hits across the 5.0 innings with four strikeouts recorded.
Senior catcher Kaden Amundson got ahold of a low curveball in the bottom of the third to give the Red Wolves the lead with a solo shot to the Dukes’ bullpen, his second homer of the year. A pair of leadoff singles from Derek Martinez and Cason Campbell threatened, with both moving into scoring position on a sac bunt, and Jake Henry Williams drawing walk loaded the bases. Evan Griffis scored one run with a sacrifice fly to right field, A-State closing the fourth up 2-0.
JMU answered with a leadoff single and a walk to start the fifth inning, followed up with a one-out walk to load the bases. Farley stayed poised, forcing an infield flyout, then fanning out the final batter to end his day.
JMU scored their lone run in the sixth off of an infield error, but only saw one other baserunner across the final three innings as Jelle van der Lelie took over for 4.0 innings, relenting one hit, one hit-by-pitch, no walks, and no earned runs for the extended-innings save.
Loss: Tyler Lutz (0-3)
