JONESBORO, Ark. (3/2/25) – Arkansas State men’s basketball sophomore guard Joey Chammaa was named Sun Belt Conference Sixth Man of the Year while junior guard Christian Harmon received an All-Sun Belt Third Team distinction, the league announced Monday.

Chammaa is the first Red Wolf to earn a postseason “Of The Year” award since Norchad Omier was named SBC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in 2021-22. The Los Angeles native is the first A-State men’s basketball player to be tabbed Sixth Man of the Year, achieving the feat by averaging 9.8 points and 0.9 steals over 20 contests off the bench in 2025-26.

In the regular season, he tied for the highest scoring average among all Sun Belt non-starters with a minimum of 20 games played. The Scarlet and Black’s leader in free throws achieved the feat with a 39-for-92 (42.4 percent) mark from the field plus a 98-for-119 (82.0 percent) clip from the charity stripe.

Chammaa surpassed double digits on the scoreboard in 10 of his 20 games off the bench and established a season high of 21 on Nov. 3 at Ohio before matching it on Feb. 21 at ULM.

In his first season at the Division I level, Harmon secured A-State’s third consecutive season with an all-conference representative. The Rochester, N.Y., native earned All-Sun Belt Third Team honors after posting a team-best 12.9 points per game that included top-six conference marks in three-point field goals per game and field goal percentage from beyond the arc.

He connected on five-or-more three-pointers in a single game five times in 2025-26 and is one of four Sun Belt players to do so. The junior guard ranked fourth in the league with 57 makes from three-point range and finished inside the top five with a 39.3 percentage.

Harmon reached double figures on the scoreboard in 13-of-18 conference games, including four 20-plus point performances alongside a career-high 33-point contest versus South Alabama on Jan. 15.
