HUNTINGTON, W.V. (2/14/26) – Arkansas State (20-7, 11-3 SBC) was unable to rally late on the road at Marshall (22-6, 12-3 SBC) Saturday afternoon, falling 54-62 at Cam Henderson Center.

A-State found 25 percent of their shots from the field (19-of-74), and hit on 14 percent from three (7-of-50), while Marshall was accurate on 43 percent overall (20-of-47) and 25 percent from deep (5-of-20). Zyion Shannon led Arkansas State with 17 total points, while Yves Cox pulled down 10 rebounds.

A slow start for the Red Wolves, A-State didn’t score until over three minutes into the game, down-9-0. The away side responded with an 8-0 run of their own by way of a trio of Aniyah Ruddock free throws and a three from Zyion Shannon. A-State ended the period trailing, 10-16.

The Red Wolves found themselves down by as much as 14 in the second quarter, but a 7-0 scoring run from Zyion Shannon cut the Marshall lead in half. The Thundering Herd maintained their six-point lead heading into the halftime break despite a set of free throws from both Marlie Dickerson and Mimi McCollister.

A-State found success beyond the arc opening the second half, landing three triples, but Marshall still outscored the Red Wolves 14-11, leaving a 50-41 difference in the final quarter break. Progress was slow, but with under five minutes remaining a 6-0 run for the Red Wolves left a four-point difference, but Marshall found another four to pull away before the final score settled at 62-54.
