JONESBORO, Ark. (1/6/25) – The Mid-American and Sun Belt Conferences jointly announced Tuesday matchups for the second round of the MAC-SBC Challenge with games set for Feb. 7-8.
 
Fans are encouraged to wear red when Arkansas State men’s basketball (10-5, 2-1 SBC) hosts Bowling Green (11-4, 2-1 MAC), Saturday, Feb. 7, at 2 p.m. CT inside First National Bank Arena. The contest, sponsored by Unico Bank, will feature a Youth Replica Jersey Giveaway.
 
The last meeting between the Red Wolves and Falcons took place in the first edition of the challenge, with the latter taking an 81-75 victory inside the Stroh Center. The Scarlet and Black hold a 2-3 record in the all-time series.
 
A-State women’s basketball (13-3, 4-0 SBC) will travel to Ypsilanti, Michigan, for a Saturday, Feb. 7, matchup against Eastern Michigan (7-5, 1-1 MAC) at 1 p.m. CT inside the Gervin GameAbove Center. It will be the first meeting between the two programs and the Red Wolves’ second contest in the state of Michigan in as many seasons.
 
The women’s squad currently holds an 11-game winning streak highlighted by victories over Houston and Arkansas plus the first 4-0 start in conference play since the 2020-21 season.
 
In season-opening matchups on Nov. 3, A-State’s men recorded an 89-85 victory at Ohio while the women’s team dropped a 66-68 decision versus Ball State. The MAC-SBC Challenge began during the 2023-24 campaign and was extended through the 2026-27 season on November 4, 2024.
