JONESBORO, Ark. (10/31/25) – Arkansas State volleyball (15-7, 8-3 SBC) took the advantage early and did not yield for the remainder of the match versus Louisiana (12-9, 4-7 SBC), tricking and treating their way to a 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-19) victory on Halloween night inside First National Bank Arena.

Devyn Lewis led the team with 11 kills while Daedrianna Cail tallied 10 on a team-high .500 hitting percentage. Mia Maloney added two service aces to her season total of 36 and posted 15 digs to match Kaitlin Whitlock.

As a team, the Red Wolves recorded 43 kills and three service aces on a .337 attack percentage, and limited the Ragin’ Cajuns to a .094 clip with nine team blocks and 51 digs.

An ace from Maloney sparked a 10-3 run capped by another from Libby Gee-Weiler, but Louisiana eventually established momentum, taking four of five rallies to make the score 15-10. Two kills from Cail stonewalled the effort, but a late rally from the opposition made the score 24-21.

The 3-0 run for the Ragin’ Cajuns came to a close on a service error, allowing the Red Wolves to secure the set.

A-State jumped out to another seven-point advantage in the first 15 rallies of the second set, doing so on five kills, three attack errors and a service error. After surrendering four of the next five points to the opposition, the Scarlet and Black reestablished momentum with a mix of kills and more attack errors to claim a 17-8 lead.

The set concluded with an 8-3 run highlighted by four kills from Lewis, but it was Whitlock that ended the set by landing one more on an assist from Valeria Ortiz.

Louisiana won four consecutive rallies to tie the third set at 8-8, but the Red Wolves would break away starting with back-to-back kills from Whitlock. The advantage peaked at six before the opposition made one final comeback attempt, making the score 21-18.

A service error broke the run, and Addison Collum posted two kills in the final three rallies to end the match.
