TULSA, Okla. (10/5/25) – Wrapping up the Tulsa Invite against 2025 NCAA Tournament qualifier Tulsa, the Arkansas State women’s tennis team added four more wins to finish the weekend with 13 overall—nine in singles and four in doubles.
“The energy and confidence all of the girls showed out there today was really something special,” said Lilly Cvanciger. “We knew it wouldnt be easy against a team like this but we knew we were going to fight for every ball out there, not give anything for free. You could feel, hear and see that fighting spirit and toughness on every court. Let’s keep the positives, analyze the matches, and take this positive momentum into regionals.”
Cvanciger and Carla Muro Castellvi teamed up to top the Tulsa No. 1 doubles pair 6-3 to open the day. On court two, A-State’s pair of Anna Grigoreva and Hanmare McAslin fell 6-2.
In singles, Grigoreva dropped the first set against Isabella Basson 6-0, but rallied back to take the match 6-1, 6-3. Cvanciger won in straight sets over Tayla Wilmot 6-1, 6-1 and McAslin added a 6-2, 6-1 victory against Saniyah Singh. Muro Castellvi came up short 7-5, 6-7 (3), 6-2 against Alice Baba to close out play in the event.
