JONESBORO, Ark. (9/14/25) – Arkansas State Women’s Soccer began Sun Belt play Sunday against Troy, finishing 0-0 in a defensive struggle.
With 18 shots and eight on goal, the Red Wolves pressured throughout. Lu Flores made multiple opportunities but was unable to keep them on target in the defensive scrum.
Both squads flashed with early sparks, changing possessions in a flurry during the first 10 minutes before settling in. The Troy sideline was issued a yellow card in the 40th minute, and freshman Ava Riehl closed out the first half with the best opening of the game, a near miss with the Trojan defense out of alignment.
Troy logged three corner kicks in a row 10 minutes after half, but the A-State defense held strong to work the away side out of rhythm. Keeper Damaris Deschaine played all 90 minutes in front of the net and made three saves.
The third tie of the season, this is the first match where the Red Wolves have been held scoreless.
