    JONESBORO, Ark. (8/22/25) – Arkansas State received high standings in the 2025 Sun Belt Preseason Cross Country Coaches Polls, as the league office announced the men’s and women’s rankings on Friday.
     
    The Red Wolves landed second place in the men’s poll with 72 points and two first-place votes. App State received 79 points and seven first place votes to claim the top spot, while Texas State (54), South Alabama (53), Marshall (40), Louisiana (36), ULM (32), Coastal Carolina (26), and Troy (13) rounded out the standings.
     
    A-State placed second in the women’s poll with 147 points, collecting two first-place votes, but the Mountaineers led with 165 points plus 10 first-place votes. Marshall (139) finished third and was followed by Texas State (120), Louisiana (113), Coastal Carolina (107), James Madison (94), Southern Miss (87 [1]), South Alabama (68), and Troy (50) to complete the top 10.
     
    A-State opens the 2025 season in Memphis, Tenn., at the City Auto Memphis Twilight XC Classic on Aug. 30.
