JONESBORO, Ark. (6/17/25) – Arkansas State men’s basketball head coach Ryan Pannone announced the addition of Grayson Bennett to the 2025-26 roster on Tuesday.
The 6’10 forward joins the Red Wolves out of La Lumiere High School (IN) after helping guide the Lakers to a 19-12 record during the 2024-25 campaign.
“Grayson is a 6’10 freshman – long, athletic, and has a super high upside,” Pannone said. “He is an incredible person, coming to us being very well raised. Who he is as a human being is going to make an impact on our team and our community.
“He’s a player that really grew later in his career and is able to impact with his length, athleticism, effort, and developing his skill. He’s a player that really impresses not just with his long term potential, but with his current effort and competitiveness to make winning plays. He is someone that we think has an incredibly bright future.”
Prior to his time at La Lumiere, Bennett earned Texas Association of Basketball Coaches 5A All-Region 3 and First Team All-District honors at Fulshear High School. Bennett earned the honors after averaging 11.6 points and 8.9 rebounds along with posting 1.9 blocks and 1.1 steals per game during his junior season.
He posted a 52.2 percent clip from three-point range and an 86.4 percentage from the charity stripe.
Bennett is the 14th addition to the roster for Pannone’s first season leading the Red Wolves, joining Jalen Hampton (Missouri State), Chandler Jackson (Florida State), Matt Hayman (Stephen F. Austin), TJ Caldwell (Ole Miss), Chudi Dioramma (Sacramento State), Christian Harmon (Gulf Coast State College), Jaxon Ellingsworth (UT Arlington), Royal Smith (Gillion Academy), Aly Tounkara (Lindenwood), Fredy-Salam Sylla (Eastern Florida State College), CJ Geathers (Chapel Hill HS), Joey Chammaa (San Diego), and Weston Honeycutt (Westside HS).
