A-State Bowling’s Haley Richard Finishes Runner-Up at ISC
LINCOLN, Neb. (4/22/18) – Senior Haley Richard of the Arkansas State women’s bowling team finished as the runner-up at the 2018 Intercollegiate Singles Championships (ISC) being held at Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln, Neb.
A native of Tecumseh, Mich., Richard advanced to the finals with a 224-202 over Kristin Quah of Vanderbilt. She squared off against Stephanie Schwartz of Stephen F. Austin and bowled a solid 226, but Schwartz knocked down 10 strikes and registered a 259 to defeat Richard.
The final was taped by CBS Sports Network and will be broadcast on Tuesday, April 24 at 7 p.m. (CT).
Richard was a Second-Team NTCA All-American this season for the second straight campaign after earning Honorable Mention All-America honors as a sophomore and freshman. She ended the 2017-18 season with one All-Tournament accolade, but was top 10 in four other events.
The Arkansas State women’s bowling squad recently completed its 11th straight NCAA Tournament appearance in a tie for fifth place. The Red Wolves registered an 88-36 record with the 88 wins representing the third most in school history.
