AUSTIN, Texas (6/8/23) – Pauline Meyer’s illustrious season continued on Thursday night at Mike A. Myers Stadium, as the Arkansas State track and field standout punched her ticket to the women’s 3000-meter steeplechase final at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Meyer carded a time of 9:51.86 to place sixth in the second semifinal heat en route to earning one of two time-qualifying positions. Six of the top eight finalists emerged from the second section.

She will race for a national championship on Saturday night, with start time slated for 8:24 p.m. on ESPN2. Meyer is A-State’s first women’s athlete to qualify for an NCAA track final since Sharika Nelvis in 2014.

The championships continue Friday afternoon, with Camryn Newton-Smith competing in the first day of the heptathlon. Newton-Smith is slated to open up in the first heat of the 100-meter hurdles at approximately 2:45 p.m. All events will be broadcasted on ESPN+, while the 200 meters is set to be aired live on ESPN2.
