Trump DOJ Sides with Comcast Against Mogul Byron Allen

November 1, 2019

Comedian and media mogul Byron Allen poses for a picture Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019, in Los Angeles. The Supreme Court will hear arguments Nov. 13 in a $20 billion lawsuit Allen filed against Comcast, with the outcome also affecting a $10 billion case he filed against Charter Communications. Presidents Trump’s Justice department is siding with Comcast against Black media mogul Byron Allen.

Allen contends Comcast does not have a good record of contracting with minority-owned broadcasters. White House Correspondent April Ryan adds if Comcast wins the Supreme Court case it could set Civil Rights back in this nation. The NAACP and the Urban League have spoken out against Comcast’s challenge to a 153 year old Civil Rights law.
