Theatre Students Participate in ‘Play in a Day Festival’

August 24, 2018

JONESBORO – The Department of Theatre at Arkansas State University will conduct its Play in a Day Festival this weekend, starting with planning meetings Friday night and concluding with a public performance at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Students will collaborate to produce their work within a 24-hour period, then an audience will enjoy an evening of short plays in The Simpson Theatre at Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Dr.  Admission is free.

Tim Bohn and Marc Williams, co-chairs of the Department of Theatre, co-founded the Play in a Day Festival in 2016, and have led the activity during the first weekend of each semester since then.  This the fifth festival in the series.

A-State students serve as playwrights, directors, stage managers and actors during the day-long process that includes script writing, rehearsals, sound and light planning, and presenting the plays.
