Tenor Brad Perry to Perform in Lecture-Concert Series

October 3, 2019

JONESBORO – The fourth presentation in Arkansas State University’s 2019-20 Lecture-Concert Series will be dramatic tenor vocalist Brad Perry Monday, Oct. 7.

His concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall (GPS: 2412 Quapaw Way).  Admission is free.

“A-State voice faculty and students are very excited to have dramatic tenor Brad Perry here for a recital and master class with vocal students,” stated Matthew Carey, assistant professor of vocal studies.  “With a very busy performance schedule, Brad is featured in as many as nine concert series a season.”

A dramatic tenor, opera singer and educator, Perry is the resident tenor for the Toccata-Tahoe Symphony Orchestra. He recently joined the faculty of Sierra Nevada College and is the owner and operator of Village Music, a private music school in Incline Village, Nev.

Those attending will enjoy an emotionally engaging concert of some of the most beloved selections of opera literature, including arias and songs by Puccini, Verdi, Capurro, Leoncavallo, Schubert, and Beethoven.

“Mr. Perry is an impressive, exciting singer who will be a real treat for our community,” added Dr. Tim Crist, professor of music.  “Our students benefit greatly from master classes and spending time interacting with wonderful, talented professionals like Mr. Perry.”

This program is presented with additional funding support from the College of Liberal Arts and Communication and the Department of Music, and The A-State Choirs.

The Lecture-Concert Series serves Arkansas State and the surrounding communities by bringing notable guest speakers and performers of diverse backgrounds and wide appeal to the campus.
