Singers to Present Concert of Inspirational Music

October 19, 2019

10/18/2019

JONESBORO – Arkansas State University’s Concert Choir and Chamber Singers, as well as a guest choir from Annie Camp Junior High School, will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in Riceland Hall of Fowler Center.

The choral music program’s theme this year is “Together We . . . ,” and this concert is titled “Together We Inspire.”

“The choirs will perform music that inspires the heart and soul: songs of nature, spiritual wonder, and interpersonal relationships,” stated Dr. Ryan Sullivan, director of choral activities.  “During each concert this season, we will partner with a local organization from Jonesboro or here on campus to feature them or raise awareness for their issues. It’s all in an effort to demonstrate to our audiences that A-State is an arts leader and also deeply tied to the community in non-musical ways.”

The concert will feature a variety of music from the 16th to the 21st centuries with composers such as Brahms, Elgar, Monteverdi, Copland, and many others. Tickets may be purchased at the door.

Members of the two ensembles, with their respective degree program and high school, are:
